There are often yacht skippers who wish to take on extra crew in Darwin for the rally, however we do not list notices for persons wishing to find a crew position on the participating yachts as skippers usually wish to meet prospective crew members on a person to person basis to discuss financial arrangements, assess sailing skills, compatibility with the other members of the crew etc. |

Yachts usually begin to arrive in Darwin 3 - 4 weeks before to the rally leaves for Indonesia and it is best to be in Darwin during that time to make your own arrangements. Many people have done this in past years and have found a crew position.

Please note that the CAITS are finalized 4 weeks before the start date and if you join yacht late and are not mentioned on the CAIT then you will need a letter from your skipper stating you will be crew on his yacht and a sponsor letter from the Sail Indonesia representative when you are in Darwin before you are able to apply for an Indonesian Social Visa.
